Driving Through the Colors

Autumn colorful foliage over lake with beautiful woods in red anChoice of colors was important when creating the Footsteps in Eden website and logo. Many years ago when I was actively involved in a banner ministry at church we paid close attention to colors, too. Significant meanings are attached to color and may have some real impact for our body, mind and spirit.

You may have wondered what makes certain colors attractive to you or why your favorite color may change from time to time. It could be because colors may help to bring healing. Perhaps that’s why we love the sensational colors of the Autumn season so much. Consider just these few meanings for them:

Yellow is a color of joy and being alive.
Green speaks of nature, health, growing and healing.
Orange signifies fruitfulness.
Amber is associated with The Heavenly Father’s care for His children.
Gold is a color of purification and purging.
Red speaks of cleansing.

These jewels of nature reach their peak in the turning of the leaves in West Tennessee from early-late November. We did a bit of Google color gazing and found this website, Made in Tennessee, to help you find Fall Color adventures right here close to Memphis. You’ll find specific information for these parks:
Chickasaw State Park
Natchez Trace State Park
Paris Landing State Park
Pickwick Landing State Park
Reelfoot Lake State Park
Land Between the Lakes National Recreational Area.

We see some road trips coming up in the next few weeks. Tell us about yours on our Facebook page.
