Live, Laugh, Love. You hear it so often it’s become so rote, but there’s power in this three word alliteration. Journey with us during this month of Love and of Heart Health as Footsteps in Eden mixes in a dose of laughter with it’s strong ties to life and love. After all, “laughter is the best medicine”.
Reminisce about your last deep belly laugh. Were you with friends, watching a funny flick, delighting in the silliness of children, being tickled by the antics of a squirrel in your backyard, or discovering the humor in a stressful situation? Whatever the subject of your laughter, ponder what happened in that moment. Your abs, your diaphragm and even your heart received quite a workout. Your shoulders did, too. All of that left you more relaxed, while helping to increase immunity. Your laughter may have helped you refocus away from negative emotions, brought you greater happiness, and helped relieve pain and stress. I love this quote:
At the height of laughter, the universe is flung into a kaleidoscope of new possibilities. ~Jean Houston
Be encouraged to laugh your stress and pains away. Those moments are enhanced when shared with family and friends. In this month of focus on love and relationships, what a way to strengthen the bonds.
Be amazed at the number of benefits laughter really has. About Health features the article The Stress Management and Health Benefits of Laughter. There is way more cool info here on the subject than we share in this short blog post.
