Lavender Tea & Ginger Lavender Tea Recipes

tea_01The post on Herbal Teas last week prompted a reader of our Footsteps In Eden Reflexology blog to share some of her own herbal tea recipes on our Facebook page. This reader happens to be  well known to the writer of this blog — a great friend for many years. I promise you she has an amazing green thumb and is one of the best cooks on the planet. I couldn’t wait to share these with you. Thank you, Ginny Drews, a.k.a. The Lavender Plant Lady! You can visit her on her Facebook page.

Lavender Tea
(Makes 1/2 gallon)

2 family size tea bags of your choice
1 small handful of lavender buds
1/2 cup raw sugar or 1/4 cup honey

Boil 1/2 the water then steep the tea bags & lavender buds (I put them in cheesecloth or empty tea bags so you don’t have to strain the tea).
Steep for 5 minutes.
Then take tea bags out & add sugar or honey to warm tea to dissolve.
Put the other 1/2 of the water in a pitcher & add tea to it.

Ginger Lavender Tea
(Makes 1 gallon)

2 cups raw ginger
10 empty tea bags full of lavender buds
Honey or sugar to taste

Bring water to a boil.
Add raw ginger (cut into quarter size slices) & lavender buds into water.
Steep for 10 minutes.
Add sweetener while tea is still warm.
Drink hot or refrigerate.
