We’ve been discussing herbs this month, and this week Footsteps in Eden Reflexology has a challenge for you: What will be growing on the sunny windowsill in your kitchen this winter?
It’s such a delight to garnish foods with fresh herbs in the summer, add to a variety of culinary dishes, and include mint leaves in a cup of tea. They can make even the simplest dish taste gourmet, and you can enjoy that pleasure year-round!
We’ve gathered everything you need to know to create an indoor herb garden, and shared it on a new board on Pinterest: Indoor Herb Gardening. In these pins you will learn how to select containers, prepare soil mix, pot the herbs, meet their lighting needs, tend the herbs, and harvest them. We particularly liked the idea of rooting cuttings from the plants in your outdoor herb garden. And, yes, directions for doing that are included, too.
We would truly love to see photos of your very simple or elaborate indoor herb garden. Please consider sharing those on our Facebook page once they are established — or perhaps you would be gracious to share some photos in the preparation stage as well.
Happy Indoor Herb Gardening!!!! And, ENJOY the harvest!!!!
