Dream Time

Sleep makes us think of dreams. At Footsteps In Eden Reflexology we wondered where to take you on a dream journey? There’s much territory we could visit. First stop: a recurring dream of my childhood. Every night was certainly not a date to “The Feather Ball” of a previous post.

He always wore a long stocking cap and striped tights on his short, skinny legs. This elf size guy chased me through many nightmares. I always awoke terrified. The only connection was to pixie figurines my mother displayed in our home. These tiny trinkets always kind of gave me the creeps. Mom loved them; so, there they were to haunt my dreams. It was an evil dream leaving me scarred and alone in my bedroom wondering who or what wanted so desperately to grab me. I always awoke before I was caught, but never felt I had safely escaped. So, what did my dream mean?

Research on the meaning of dreams would indicate I was running from stressful situations over which I had no control. That certainly could have been true, and the pursuit by the elf that gave me the creeps in real life anyway, I’m sure added to my anxiety. Like any child, I would have had no idea how to address those fears and anxieties.

It is a great lead in, though, to the meanings of your dreams. Good ones or bad ones? Here are a few links that might help you decipher them. So, three more stops on our dream journey right here:

Dream Moods offers over 5900 key words to help you interpret your dreams, and they have this to say in their introduction:

Life’d offers this article: 25 Common Dreams and Their Meanings. A quote from the article:

The need to make sense of our lives is as human as dreaming is, and dreaming represents an important part of our lives — we do it every single night!

The book, A Dream Come True by James Ryle (affiliate link) offers a Biblical look at how God speaks through dreams and visions.
